January 14, 2012- Small Stones
merciless
by Teri H Hoover
The sun chided me, with taunting glares all day long.
Blinding me through the kitchen window, until I could not type.
Continuing her admonishment, she skulked behind the clouds while we walked the dog.
Only to reemerge at the car wash with blazing laughter,
demanding full remuneration from my unsettled mind.
Merciless sun
don't you see,
all you've done
is blinded me.
