Climbing this wall 
on a footpath 
the width of a
neighborhood sidewalk.

The coolness of the rock tilted
neatly into the wall of the canyon.


Focused on each little footstep 
Less focused on the bolted wall chain in my hand.

Disregarding


a
half
mile
below








the canyon floor.
